Hi, I'm Sarah!  I learned how to knit in middle school and have been hooked ever since.  

Knitting is one of my favorite ways to relax and it's known to have meditative benefits!  You need both hands to knit, so it's a great excuse to put down your phone and unwind.

In 2020, I launched a collection of knit kits hoping to share my love of knitting with more people.  The knit kits contain everything needed to knit a project at home and are accompanied with step-by-step how to videos demonstrating all the skills needed to complete your project!

Smoke & Slate is woman-owned and our knit kits contain materials supporting small businesses locally and across the world.  The merino wool is sourced from a family owned mill in Yorkshire, UK, the kit packaging is designed by a woman-owed graphic design business based in Minnesota and the printing is done at a small print shop in Connecticut!
